Spain stabilizes wildfires in Navarre and La Gomera

The wildfire that broke out on Thursday near Ezcabarte in Navarre burned roughly 400 hectares. On Sunday, President María Chivite announced the fire was stabilised, with no active fronts but about ten remaining hotspots. All agricultural and forestry restrictions were lifted, and emergency level 2 remains in place to enable aerial support if needed.

On the island of La Gomera, a separate fire was reported in the Gerián area of Vallehermoso. The Cabildo confirmed the blaze, covering about 9,500 m², was fully extinguished by Tuesday afternoon. No injuries or damage to homes were recorded, and rapid deployment of ground crews and two island‑based aerial units prevented further spread.
