Spain summons Russian ambassador after drone strike injures two in Romania

Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares condemned a Russian drone that struck a residential building in Galaţi, Romania, injuring two people. He described the act as “very serious” and conveyed Spain’s solidarity with Romania, summoning Russian ambassador Yuri Klimenko to Madrid to deliver the protest.

Albares noted that Spain has more than 200 troops deployed in Romania as part of NATO’s forward presence on the alliance’s eastern flank, underscoring Madrid’s commitment to the security of its EU and NATO allies.
