Spain to add 150 experts to expedite Adam storm insurance payouts
Spanish First Vice President and Minister of Economy, Commerce and Business, Carlos Cuerpo, has announced that the Insurance Compensation Consortium will hire approximately 150 additional experts. This measure aims to accelerate damage assessments and the payment of indemnities to those affected by the Adam storm event in the Oliva region of Valencia.
The Consortium has received roughly 13,000 requests so far, with nearly half originating from Oliva. Following an announcement by President Pedro Sánchez, the government is set to declare the affected municipalities as severely impacted zones, a necessary step to enable various ministerial aid programs.
During a visit to the KikoParc campsite, Cuerpo met with local business owners to discuss the impact of the flooding. Business leaders expressed urgent concerns regarding the speed of financial assistance to prevent liquidity issues from threatening their continuity.
