Spain to host forums on circular economy in textiles and construction

Spain will host two significant industry forums focused on circular economy practices in the textile and construction sectors.

In Valencia, the Ecofira event will feature the Ecoforum on November 11 and 12. This forum addresses the regulatory, technological, and industrial challenges of textile and bulky waste circularity. The program includes discussions on ecodesign and extended producer responsibility, featuring representatives from companies such as IKEA, Mango, Andreu World, and Textil Santanderina, alongside experts from the European Commission's Joint Research Centre.

Additionally, the VI Circular Construction Forum is scheduled for December 3 in Barcelona at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. Under the theme ‘Building Resiliency’, the forum will bring together stakeholders from Brussels, Vienna, and Barcelona to share strategies for reducing resource dependency and strengthening supply chains. The event aims to analyze how circular economy models can help the construction industry adapt to economic uncertainty and climate change, with support from companies including Saint-Gobain, Holcim, and Knauf.
