Spanish circular economy industry forums
Overview
Spain is set to host two major industry forums focused on circular economy practices within the textile and construction sectors.
In Valencia, the Ecofira International Fair will host the Ecoforum on November 11-12. Under the theme ‘Textiles and bulky items: the challenge of building circular value chains,’ the event will address regulatory, technological, and industrial challenges. Discussions will cover ecodesign, extended producer responsibility, and the development of markets for recovered materials, featuring participants from companies such as IKEA, Mango, Andreu World, and Textil Santanderina.
Additionally, the VI Circular Construction Forum is scheduled for December 3 in Barcelona at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. Themed ‘Building Resiliency,’ this forum aims to bring together stakeholders to discuss strategies for reducing resource dependency and strengthening supply chains to help the construction industry adapt to climate change and economic uncertainty. Supported by companies including Saint-Gobain, Holcim, and Knauf, the event will analyze circular economy models for the construction sector.
