La Séptima announces programming shifts for November TDT launch
The new digital terrestrial television (TDT) channel, La Séptima, has announced a restructuring of its programming schedule ahead of its launch on November 5. This adjustment follows the announcement of general elections in Spain, which has shifted the channel's initial strategy.
Javier Ruiz will move to the prime time slot, leading a special broadcast focused on the upcoming elections. Verónica Sanz has been appointed to lead the morning programming "until further notice." Additionally, Sarah Santaolalla is confirmed to host an afternoon program.
The channel aims to host open electoral debates with major political parties and plans to provide its signal for free to other media outlets to facilitate live coverage. The technical reorganization of the RGE2 multiplex for these new UHD emissions may affect certain older 4K televisions, as users may need to check compatibility with new transmission parameters.
