Spain used car market shows high age and mileage for popular models

An analysis of approximately five million vehicles by Carfax reveals significant trends in the Spanish used car market. The most popular second-hand models in Spain, including the Seat Ibiza, Volkswagen Golf, Seat Leon, Renault Clio, and Ford Focus, are characterized by high age and mileage.

On average, these top-selling used models are 16.3 years old and have accumulated 188,979 kilometers. Notably, 61% of the vehicles within these popular models are over 15 years old, which is higher than the 51% average for the overall Spanish vehicle fleet. The Seat Ibiza is the most frequent choice, accounting for 16% of the analyzed group, with an average age of 17 years and 180,000 kilometers.

The Volkswagen Golf follows closely at 15%, though it shows higher wear, averaging 18 years of age and 213,000 kilometers, with 49% of studied units having a history of damage.
