Spain vehicle fleet reaches record average age of 14.6 years

According to the 2025 annual report from the Spanish Association of Automobile and Truck Manufacturers (Anfac), the average age of the vehicle fleet in Spain has risen to 14.6 years. This represents the highest average age recorded since 2011, marking a 49% increase in the average age of passenger cars over that period.

Data shows that nearly half of the passenger cars in Spain, specifically 48.51%, are more than 15 years old. Furthermore, 62.72% of the total fleet is over 10 years old, while only 17.1% of vehicles are less than five years old. The report suggests this trend reflects broader economic stagnation, noting that real wages in Spain have seen minimal growth compared to other European nations.
