Spain's CIS to launch housing barometer study

The Spanish Center for Sociological Research (CIS) and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda are collaborating to conduct a housing barometer. The study, costing 288,000 euros, is being co-designed to evaluate existing policies and plan future measures to address housing issues in Spain.

The project involves approximately 6,000 telephone interviews. The research will explore topics such as housing accessibility regarding ownership and rentals, the importance of housing compared to other interests, and the impact of tourist housing proliferation.

The costs will be split equally between the two entities. The Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda will contribute 144,000 euros, while the CIS will provide its portion through in-kind contributions. The findings are expected to be released in November.
