Spain's Congress launches €5 million tender for air‑conditioning energy upgrades
The Spanish Congress has opened a public tender with a base budget of almost €5 million, inclusive of taxes, to improve the energy efficiency of its building's climate‑control system. The contract value without VAT is €4,078,028.13, rising to €4,934,414.04 after adding €856,385.91 in tax.
Work is scheduled to begin on 1 September 2024 and finish by 30 April 2028, divided into four months for the main Palace, nine months for extensions I and II, and seven months for extensions III and IV. Ayesa Ingeniería y Arquitectura S.A.U., hired in January 2024 for €62,934, will provide the execution project, which includes replacing constant‑flow pumps with variable‑flow units, upgrading primary and secondary electrical panels, modernising the SCADA climate‑management system and installing electrical consumption analyzers.
