Spain's Imserso launches 2026‑27 senior travel program

The Instituto de Mayores y Servicios Sociales (Imserso) has opened the application period for its 2026‑27 senior travel program. Applications are accepted until 10 July. The scheme offers 879 000 places across mainland coastal destinations, the Canary and Balearic Islands, and cultural or nature trips, with stays ranging from four to ten days.

Prices vary by destination, length and season, from €132.91 for a four‑day excursion to €564.72 for a ten‑day stay in the Canary Islands. A reduced‑price quota of 7 447 places costs €50 and is reserved for seniors with limited resources. Eligibility includes Spanish pensioners, widowed seniors over 55, unemployed benefit recipients over 60 and insured persons aged 65 or older, as well as Spanish residents abroad and returning emigrants receiving a public pension.

Applications can be submitted online via Imserso’s electronic portal or by downloading and mailing a paper form. Existing participants do not need to re‑apply.
