The Instituto de Mayores y Servicios Sociales (Imserso) has launched the 2026‑2027 season of its senior tourism programme, offering 879,213 places. Of these, 7,447 are reserved at a reduced €50 rate for pensioners with low incomes. The slots are divided among mainland coastal trips (440,284 places), island coastal trips (228,142 places) and short getaway trips (210,787 places). Applicants can travel with companion animals on both mainland and island routes. The application window is now open, with travel expected to begin in October after bookings start in September.
In Extremadura, the regional "Extremadura Verde en la Mirada" scheme provides 750 places for residents aged 60 and over. The program runs from late September to early December, offering 15 trips to destinations such as Las Hurdes, Valle del Jerte and Geoparque Villuercas‑Ibores‑Jara. Prices range from €27 for one‑day trips to €135 for three‑day trips. Applications are submitted online or by email via the Adenex platform, with spots allocated on a first‑come, first‑served basis and preference given to those who have not previously travelled with the programme.
