Spain's Ministry of Health cancels CISNS meeting on waiting list decree
The Spanish Ministry of Health has canceled the extraordinary meeting of the Interterritorial Council of the National Health System (CISNS) scheduled for this Friday. The meeting was intended to address a draft royal decree aimed at regulating the National Health System's waiting list information system and standardizing data treatment.
The proposed regulation seeks to update the current Royal Decree 605/2003. Under the new project, waiting times would be calculated from the date of medical indication, though patients could be added to the registry up to five calendar days later. The system would also include hospital outpatient consultations, diagnostic and therapeutic tests, surgical interventions, and, for the first time, the measurement of delays in Primary Care.
While this extraordinary session was canceled, sources from the Ministry confirmed that regularly scheduled ordinary meetings with health departments will proceed as planned. The meeting had previously been postponed due to an urgent session in Congress regarding housing decrees.
