Spain's People's Party urges change in Castilla‑La Mancha, condemns socialist policies

People's Party officials in Castilla‑La Mancha have called for a political turnaround, arguing that the region and Spain need to move away from what they describe as exhausted socialist policies. Regional PP leader Miguel Ángel Valverde said the PSOE model has driven poverty and unemployment in the area and that a change is required to restore confidence in institutions, lower taxes for entrepreneurs and improve housing, water, health and infrastructure.

Paco Núñez, the PP president of Castilla‑La Mancha, announced that within a year the region will adopt a management model similar to the one in neighbouring Andalusia, citing tax cuts, the abolition of inheritance and donation taxes, and a focus on agro‑food industry development and new transport links that connect southern Europe. He linked these plans to the broader national agenda under party leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo.
