Spain's Pharmacy Council and Nuclear Safety Board Sign Pact to Boost Radiopharmaceutical Safety

The Consejo General de Colegios Farmacéuticos (CGCOF) and the Consejo de Seguridad Nuclear (CSN) signed a framework collaboration agreement in Madrid. The presidents of the two bodies, Jesús Aguilar of the pharmacy council and Juan Carlos Lentijo of the nuclear safety council, signed the pact to reinforce joint efforts.

The agreement will coordinate training programmes and public‑information campaigns aimed at improving radiological protection and promoting the rational use of radiopharmaceuticals in diagnosis and treatment. It also seeks to safeguard the environment through proper handling and disposal of radioactive medicines and to position community pharmacists as key health agents in radiopharmacy safety.
