Spain's PP chief Miguel Tellado demands dismissal of Guardia Civil director and SEPI president

PP secretary‑general Miguel Tellado visited Pontedeume and urged the Spanish government to remove several senior officials under indictment. He called for the resignation of Guardia Civil director‑general Mercedes González, deputy director Manuel Llamas, and SEPI president Belén Gualda, saying their prosecutions "have no precedent" and threaten the cabinet's credibility.

Tellado criticized Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez for retaining a government he described as a "criminal organization" and demanded that Sánchez call early elections, arguing the current legislature is "finished". The accusations stem from recent judicial investigations involving members of Sánchez’s inner circle and senior administrators.

The remarks were made during a public event in Pontedeume, where the PP also presented its municipal candidate for the 2027 local elections.
