Spain's PP in Huelva demands health minister accountability and calls for early elections

The People's Party group in the Provincial Council of Huelva will present two motions at the plenary session scheduled for July 1. The first motion defends medical professionals and attributes the collapse of Spain’s public health system to the Ministry of Health and Health Minister Mónica García, citing an indefinite doctors’ strike that began in December 2024. It calls for the creation of a real negotiating table that includes the ministries of Finance and Public Administration and urges the ministry to publish data on suspended medical acts in Huelva.

The second motion urges the central government to dissolve the Cortes Generales and call a general election, arguing that the current legislature suffers from extraordinary political and institutional weakness, has failed to approve the state budget and lacks adequate parliamentary control, with direct repercussions for local administrations in financing, housing, security and public services.
