Spain's PSOE Faces Wave of Corruption Investigations

The Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) is confronting a series of judicial investigations involving accusations of corruption, influence‑peddling and other offences. Over a dozen individuals linked to the party – including close collaborators, the prime minister's spouse and brother, and a former socialist prime minister – are under scrutiny. Police have conducted raids on the party’s headquarters in Madrid as part of the probes.

Pedro Sánchez himself has not been formally charged, but the investigations are heightening political tension. The opposition alleges that senior socialists have benefited from public contracts and favoured administrative decisions, while the government seeks to preserve its parliamentary majority and continue its legislative agenda amid growing public scepticism.
