Santos Cerdán publishes self‑edited book “La Caída” amid PSOE corruption probe

Former PSOE secretary‑general of organization Santos Cerdán, who has been investigated in the “case Koldo” and other corruption allegations and spent more than four months in pre‑trial detention, released a self‑published memoir on 30 June. The book, titled *La Caída: Poder, relato y destrucción en la era del juicio político*, is available on Amazon and presents his account of the “political trial” he says he has suffered.

Cerdán frames the work as a “radiografía” of how reputation can be built and destroyed by media narratives, opening with the line “Quince días. Ese fue el tiempo que tardó todo en derrumbarse.” He argues that the construction of a public narrative can shape social perception long before any judicial resolution and calls for the presumption of innocence as a cornerstone of the democratic state.

The book also recounts his resignation after the Guardia Civil’s UCO report on 12 June 2025, his meeting with Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez at Moncloa, and his claim that the accusations are “gravísimas” but politically motivated. Cerdán uses the publication to criticize the media, the judiciary and political opponents, describing himself as a victim of a “linchamiento” orchestrated within “the system.”
