Spain's regions allocate over €4 million for road safety upgrades

The Junta of Castilla y León approved contracts to replace and install vertical road signs on its autonomous network, assigning €365,326 to the province of Soria as part of a €3.59 million programme that will run until 2027. New galvanized steel signs with high‑reflectivity elements will replace deteriorated or missing signs to improve visibility and safety on more than 11,500 km of roads.

In Galicia, the Consellería de Vivenda e Planificación de Infraestruturas has reactivated a €900,000 project on the PO‑542 between O Pino and Bora. The plan includes building a roundabout at the Bar Emiliano junction, adding a pedestrian crossing, and expropriating eight parcels totalling about 2,710 m². The work aims to reduce left‑turn movements, lower speeds and reorganise the public space, with an expected duration of seven months.
