Spain's summer university programs draw record international participation

The University of La Rioja concluded its Summer Course on Spanish Language and Culture with a farewell paella event that brought together 60 international students from more than a dozen countries, including the United States, South Korea, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Malaysia, Switzerland, Japan, France, Pakistan, Thailand and Cameroon. The program, part of the Campus Valle de la Lengua project, combined language classes, literature, cultural activities and homestays, and highlighted the university’s two‑decade tradition of hosting foreign learners.

Meanwhile, the Universidad Internacional de Andalucía (UNIA) at its La Rábida campus closed the 83rd edition of its Summer Courses with a record attendance of roughly 600 students from twelve nations. The courses covered topics such as green hydrogen, renewable energy, artificial intelligence in education, and regional issues like Doñana and local gastronomy. Director María de la O Barroso praised the high quality of the programmes and the intercultural dialogue they fostered.
