In Algeciras, the public water company Emalgesa announced that on Wednesday, 8 July, water service will be suspended from about 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. while the supply conduits on Avenida de Francia are renewed. The outage will affect the neighborhoods of San José Artesano, La Ermita, Rinconcillo Playa and Doña Casilda. The works are part of a broader urban‑improvement plan funded partly by EU Next Generation recovery funds managed by the Junta de Andalucía.

In Ciudad Real, Urban Planning Councillor Yolanda Torres visited renovation work on Avenida del Ferrocarril, where a 600‑metre section of old fibro‑cement pipe will be replaced at a cost of more than €300,000. The municipality aims to reduce the share of fibro‑cement pipes in its water network from over 30% to below that level, having already invested over €2.4 million this legislative term. Future projects will prioritize areas where pipe failures cause the greatest inconvenience to residents.
