Spanish Air and Space Force mourns soldier killed in highway accident

The Spanish Air and Space Force has issued a formal farewell to Efrén Carazo, a 29-year-old soldier from Palma del Río who died following a traffic accident. The incident occurred on Tuesday, August 18, on the A-4 highway near Carmona, Seville, while Carazo was traveling to his duty station at the Tablada military base.

Carazo was struck by a vehicle while stopped on the shoulder of the highway to change a tire. The driver of the vehicle, described as a van-style vehicle, fled the scene and remains at large. The Guardia Civil is currently conducting an investigation to identify the perpetrator and determine the circumstances of the fatal collision.

The military institution expressed deep sorrow over the loss, noting Carazo’s spirit of camaraderie and the affection he earned from his fellow service members.
