Spanish airlines launch new direct routes to Armenia, Georgia and Madrid

Iberojet and Travelplan inaugurated the first direct flight from Spain to Armenia and Georgia, with the inaugural service departing Madrid on 31 May and a return from Tbilisi on 7 June. The eight‑night itinerary combines four nights each in Yerevan and Tbilisi, linked by a ground transfer between the two capitals, and is intended to expand further through 2027.

Air Europa began a new domestic connection between Sevilla and Madrid on 1 June, operating two daily flights in each direction with Boeing 737 aircraft. Scheduled departures are 11:20 – 12:25 and 21:15 – 22:20 from Sevilla, and 09:20 – 10:30 and 19:20 – 20:30 from Madrid, with fares starting at €26. The carrier expects the route to contribute to its summer capacity increase of roughly 153 000 seats per destination.

Both routes aim to boost tourism and improve connectivity, reflecting a broader push by Spanish carriers to open new markets and strengthen domestic travel options.
