Guardia Civil dismantles human trafficking network in Spain

The Guardia Civil has dismantled an extensive criminal network involved in human trafficking for sexual exploitation, centered in Seville with links to various other provinces across Spain, including Pontevedra.

The operation resulted in the liberation of 22 foreign women. According to investigators, the criminal organization recruited victims from Latin American countries using false promises of employment as elderly caregivers. Upon arrival in Spain, the network seized the women's passports and claimed they owed approximately 10,000 euros for travel and accommodation expenses.

To settle these debts, the victims were coerced and intimidated into prostitution at brothels managed by the organization. The group frequently moved women between different properties owned by various criminal entities to evade police detection. Perpetrators also used threats against the victims' families in their home countries to maintain control.
