Niebla truck accident results in driver fatality and fuel spill

A 58-year-old truck driver died on Monday following a traffic accident on the A-472 highway in Niebla, Huelva. The accident occurred at approximately 8:10 AM at kilometer 45.5, where the driver's tanker truck overturned.

The collision caused a significant diesel leak. Emergency response teams, including the Huelva Provincial Firefighters Consortium, the Civil Guard, and 061 emergency medical services, were deployed to the scene. Firefighters utilized foam to control the fuel spill, while specialized crews worked to transfer the remaining diesel from the tanker to prevent further environmental impact.

Emergency operations involved nine firefighters and five intervention vehicles from the San Juan del Puerto and Almonte stations. Authorities also coordinated with road maintenance and labor risk prevention agencies to secure the area and facilitate the removal of the heavy vehicle.
