Spanish authorities seize three tons of hashish in Huelva

The Guardia Civil intercepted a narcolancha off the coast of Huelva, Spain, seizing 3,040 kilograms of hashish. The operation, conducted on the morning of October 14, involved the Huelva Provincial Maritime Service and an aerial unit.

Upon detection, the vessel attempted to flee at high speeds, performing dangerous maneuvers and discarding fuel canisters into the sea to evade capture. The interceptor vessel ‘Río Tiétar’ successfully boarded the craft, resulting in the arrest of eight crew members.

In addition to the 76 bales of hashish, authorities seized the high-powered semi-rigid boat and remaining fuel. The crew faces charges including drug trafficking, smuggling, endangering collective security, and serious disobedience to authority.
