Hashish trafficking operations in Morocco and Spain

Overview

Recent law enforcement operations in Morocco and Spain have resulted in significant seizures of hashish.

In Fez, Morocco, security forces and the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance intercepted 4,100 kilograms of hashish during a raid on a rural farm. The operation led to the arrest of three suspects linked to an international trafficking network and the seizure of a truck, four marine engines, and four inflatable boats used for smuggling.

In Huelva, Spain, the Guardia Civil intercepted a high-speed vessel, known as a ‘narcolancha’, off the coast. Authorities seized 3,040 kilograms of hashish and arrested eight crew members. The vessel had attempted to evade capture by performing dangerous maneuvers and discarding fuel canisters before being boarded by the interceptor vessel ‘Río Tiétar’.
