Spanish authors Martín Ibarrola and Borja Iglesias highlight new literary works

Writer and bookseller Martín Ibarrola will appear on Joseba Arguiñano’s program, Cocina Abierta, to discuss his career in travel chronicles and exploration. Ibarrola, known for his work in remote locations including the Amazon, will share experiences regarding unique regional gastronomy, such as eating beetle larvae and certain types of fish.

His book, ‘La selva herida’, which earned the Bodegas Olarra & Café Bretón Literary Prize, was inspired by his journeys through the Amazon. In addition to travel writing, Ibarrola has also engaged in speleology.

Separately, author Borja Iglesias is promoting his fourth literary work, ‘Alambique’, a collection of 60 micro-stories. The book has become the top seller for Editorial Platero during the third quarter of the year. Iglesias, a clinical psychologist, will present the work in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria before embarking on a tour across Spain. He emphasizes that the micro-story genre requires a conflict to distinguish it from poetic prose and relies on the reader to actively complete the narrative through ellipsis.
