Spanish cinema rolls out new releases and Audi Future Stories short film
Two new films are scheduled to open in Spanish cinemas on 24 July 2026. One is a comedy‑romance remake directed by Mar Olid, based on the Italian movie *Tre di troppo*, featuring a cast that includes Salva Reina and Kira Mir. The other is *Sacacharine*, an Australian horror‑drama directed by Natalie Erika James, starring MidoriFrancis and Danielle Macdonald.
Audi Future Stories announced its sixth‑edition winner, the short film *El triplete*. Starring Karra Elejalde and Kandido Uranga, the Barcelona‑shot story follows two elderly friends in a retirement home dealing with the loss of their petanca teammate. The film, co‑directed by Kike Maíllo, will debut at the San Sebastián Festival in September and is presented alongside an Audi Q3 Sportback e‑hybrid.
Both releases highlight ongoing investment in Spanish‑language productions and emerging talent.
