Spanish food firms Sigma and Arrocerías Pons report earnings and launch investment plans
Sigma (Campofrío Food Group) posted 2025 European sales of €2.112 billion, a 0.5 % decline adjusted for flood damage to its Valencia plant, but its EBITDA rose 17 % to €82.9 million thanks to insurance compensation and stronger performance in Spain, France and Belgium. Excluding non‑recurring items, the group recorded a loss of €31.2 million, an improvement over the prior year, while global sales reached a record $9.273 billion.
Arrocerías Pons, a major Spanish rice packager and Mercadona supplier, posted 2025 revenue of €133 million, slightly below the previous year, after a 6 % increase in production volume. The company announced a €20 million investment programme for 2026‑2030 to expand and modernise its Massanassa and Don Benito plants, aiming to boost capacity, efficiency and sustainability while expanding sales in European markets such as France, Italy and Portugal.
