Spanish Ibex 35 rises above 18,300 points as oil prices fall

The Ibex 35 opened higher on Friday, gaining 0.31% to 18,332.2 points, with almost all constituents in the green. The rise was attributed to falling oil prices and developments in the Middle East. Brent crude slipped 0.1% to $95.2 per barrel and U.S. WTI fell 0.2% to $92.8.

Spain's official bulletin published a ministerial order to start drafting the 2027 state budget. Acciona Energía announced the sale of 64 MW of hydroelectric assets to White Summit Capital for €66 million, stating the transaction carries no debt. Amadeus began the second phase of its share‑repurchase programme, authorising up to €150 million or 4.6 million shares.

Top gainers on the index were Cellnex (+1.4%), Inditex (+1.1%), Acciona Energía (+1.0%) and Iberdrola (+0.9%). The biggest losers were ArcelorMittal (‑2.5%), Indra (‑0.9%), Amadeus (‑0.44%), Fluidra (‑0.38%), Acerinox (‑0.30%) and Repsol (‑0.20%). Other European markets were mixed: Frankfurt –0.2%, Milan –0.1%, London –0.3% and Paris +0.1%. The yield on Spain’s 10‑year sovereign bond was 3.46%, and the euro hovered around $1.162 against the dollar.
