Spanish Institute of Oceanography hosts marine research workshops
The Spanish Institute of Oceanography (IEO) is participating in the annual European Researchers' Night, offering various public outreach activities to promote marine research and ocean conservation.
In Vigo, the Oceanographic Center will host free workshops and games at the MARCO Museum. Activities include an educational card game regarding the periodic table and its role in marine processes, as well as a giant board game designed to teach concepts related to aquaculture through physical challenges and cooperative tasks.
Other participating centers across Spain, including those in A Coruña and the Balearic Islands, are also hosting scientific workshops. These sessions aim to engage the public with topics such as physical oceanography, the importance of plankton in the food chain, and the sustainable management of marine resources.
