Spanish labor markets show mixed results in Caudete and Jerez
Labor market data for August 2026 shows varying trends in the Spanish municipalities of Caudete and Jerez.
In Caudete, registered unemployment rose to 701 people, a 2.04% increase from July. The rise was more pronounced among men, who saw 11 new unemployed individuals, compared to three additional unemployed women. The service sector remains the largest area of unemployment with 453 people, followed by industry, construction, and agriculture.
In Jerez, total employment contracts reached 5,751 in August, marking a 15.48% decrease from July and a 4.78% decline compared to August 2025. The contraction significantly impacted female employment, which saw a 19.40% monthly drop. Most new contracts were concentrated in the 25-44 age group, and the majority of workers held primary or secondary education levels.
