Spanish left-wing parties form alliances for upcoming elections

Left-wing political forces in Spain are forming alliances ahead of upcoming elections to consolidate votes and counter the influence of right-wing parties such as PP and Vox. In Alcoi, Compromís, Podemos, Esquerra Unida, and Esquerra Republicana have reached an agreement to present a united front, aiming to establish a permanent space for collective construction rather than a purely electoral pact.

On a national level, Podemos and Esquerra Republicana have secured a collaboration agreement. This pact includes joint campaign activities led by Gabriel Rufián and Irene Montero, as well as the inclusion of Podemos members on Esquerra Republicana's lists for Congress. The leaders are scheduled to launch their joint campaign with an event in Nou Barris on Saturday, October 24, focusing on issues such as housing, peace, and employment.
