Spanish mayors assess three years in office in Poio and Cádiz

Ángel Moldes, mayor of the Galician municipality of Poio, presented a three‑year balance, saying the town has undergone an “undeniable transformation” after inheriting the highest municipal debt in the province. He reported that more than 90% of the administration’s program has been completed, with roughly €70 million in works executed or planned, including road upgrades, water‑network modernization, new economic zones and public facilities such as sports fields and a future municipal pool.

Bruno García, mayor of Cádiz, also marked three years in office, highlighting progress on major projects such as the Portillo development, which moved from a €5 million plan to a €19.1 million investment. He noted a reduction in municipal debt from a peak to about 22% of revenue and outlined further spending to keep the debt below 30% before the next elections. García cited renovations of the cemetery, theater, historic castle and other public spaces as evidence of a dynamic administration preparing for upcoming municipal polls.
