Spanish Mayors Launch Affordable Housing Projects in Palma and Toledo

Palma’s mayor, Jaime Martínez Llabrés, laid the first stone for a new development of 80 limited‑price rental apartments in Son Ferragut, part of the municipal housing plan that also includes 87 affordable units in Camp Redó, bringing the total to 167 units earmarked for low‑rent housing with social quotas for young people, seniors and single‑parent families.

In Toledo, mayor Carlos Velázquez inaugurated the first‑stone ceremony for the rehabilitation of the former Alamillos del Tránsito schools. The project, called ‘Toledo Emerge’, will create 18 cohousing apartments, 60 resident parking spaces, a new public square linked to the Plaza del Conde, and preserve archaeological remains, aiming to revitalize the historic centre for living, working and community life.
