Spanish mayors participate in II China-Spain Mayors Dialogue
A delegation of approximately 20 Spanish mayors and institutional representatives is participating in the II China-Spain Mayors Dialogue, an institutional program held in China from August 25 to September 1. Organized by the China Chair Foundation and the China People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the initiative aims to strengthen ties between local administrations and foster cooperation in areas such as innovation, sustainability, urban development, culture, and tourism.
The delegation's itinerary includes visits to Beijing, Yantai, Yangzhou, and Shanghai. Activities involve meetings with authorities, visits to companies, and technical tours of urban projects. In Beijing, the group met with representatives from the International Department of the Communist Party of China and visited the Tianning No. 1 Zero Carbon Smart Park, a former thermal power plant transformed into a sustainable urban regeneration model using AI and big data.
Participating local leaders, including the mayors of Alcoi and Fuensalida, are using the forum to present their municipalities' technological and economic potential while seeking new avenues for international collaboration and knowledge exchange.
