Spanish miniseries ‘El problema final’ reaches Netflix global top 10

The Spanish miniseries ‘El problema final’ has reached the global top 10 non-English language series on Netflix. Directed by Félix Viscarret, the four-episode production is an adaptation of a novel by Arturo Pérez-Reverte.

Set in the spring of 1959 on an isolated islet near Mallorca, the plot follows a closed-circle murder mystery. After a storm leaves thirteen people stranded in a small hotel, an English tourist is found dead. While initially appearing to be a suicide, evidence suggests murder, prompting an investigation by Benjamin Basil, a former actor famous for playing Sherlock Holmes.

The cast features José Coronado, María Valverde, Maribel Verdú, and Martiño Rivas. The story utilizes a classic mystery structure where the protagonist must rely on observation and memory to solve the crime in the absence of police or modern communication.
