Spanish mother calls for repeal of euthanasia law after daughter's death

A mother, Yolanda Ramos, published a TikTok video addressed to political leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo, urging him to repeal Spain's euthanasia law after her daughter Noelia Castillo died under the law about a month earlier. Ramos says Noelia was 25 and did not have a terminal illness, suffering from mental health conditions. She emphasizes that Noelia “was only 25. A life ahead,” and notes that they were told her illness “was not degenerative,” with implications about aging. The message focuses on opposing the legislation that allowed Noelia’s death and calls for repeal when Feijóo governs.

Separately, a second article chronicles the hardships families face with pediatric cancer. Beatriz González’s son was diagnosed with leukemia in 2021 at age 13 and underwent two years of treatment, emerging as a survivor. In contrast, Natalia Varona’s daughter died in September 2025 from a tumor at 2 years and 6 months. The piece highlights how life can be disrupted by illness and stresses the importance of support and encouragement from others during such trials.
