Spanish municipalities advance local infrastructure and participatory budgeting projects
The City Council of San Vicente del Raspeig has awarded a contract to Arquitectura y Urbanismo Estudio Boix SLP to draft the adequacy project for the Sur Sports Complex. The contract, valued at approximately 40,000 euros, includes technical direction for the works and has an execution period of 99 days for the first phase. The project aims to restore the facility, which has suffered deterioration under previous management, ensuring safety and energy efficiency in areas such as the velodrome, gym, and outdoor sports tracks.
In Muro, the local government has approved 21 citizen-led proposals funded through the second Participatory Budgets, totaling 120,000 euros. Approved projects include urban improvements like connecting the sports center path to the school zone, paving old town streets, and renovating the former market building. Other allocations include improvements to the Escola Graduada, the creation of calisthenics parks, and youth activity programs. Residents will vote to prioritize these initiatives between October 26 and November 1.
