Various Spanish municipalities announce social and cultural initiatives

Several municipalities in Spain have launched new programs focused on social welfare, local commerce, and historical research.

In Utrera, the City Council and the University of Seville have signed an agreement to research and preserve local heritage, specifically focusing on the Utrera Synagogue and the town's history during the 19th century. Similarly, in Huelva, a scientific committee has been established as part of the European AGREE project to investigate the province's role in Atlantic maritime expeditions between the 15th and 18th centuries.

Social support initiatives include Alcalá de Henares approving 55,200 euros for vulnerable populations, such as those with Alzheimer's and autism, and Segovia launching the ‘Te acompañamos’ program to combat loneliness among the elderly and chronically ill. In Albacete, 17,000 euros have been allocated to adapted sports for people with disabilities, while Alhama de Murcia is supporting socio-educational projects for minors through ‘Al Compás’.

To boost local economies, Albolote has renewed a 12,000-euro grant to its merchants' association, Ascoal, and Huércal-Overa has provided 3,000 euros to the Association of Merchants and Entrepreneurs to fund commercial campaigns like the ‘Breakfast Route’.
