Spanish municipalities deploy security for local festivals

Municipalities in Spain are implementing significant security and medical deployments for upcoming local festivals.

In Cartagena, the Carthagineses and Romans festivities will be monitored by approximately 2,000 personnel, including Local Police, National Police, and the Civil Guard. The operation includes sobriety checks, access controls to prevent the entry of weapons or drugs, and specialized traffic management. Additionally, fire services will be on standby for pyrotechnic events, and safety inspections will be conducted at festival camps.

In Algete, the patron saint festivities in honor of the Santísimo Cristo de la Esperanza will feature an unprecedented preventive plan. This includes the continuous 24-hour presence of two ambulances throughout the four-day celebration to ensure rapid medical response. The security strategy involves a coordinated effort between Local Police, the Civil Guard, Civil Protection, and private security to manage large crowds and maintain public order.
