Spanish municipalities launch digital commerce training for small businesses
Local government entities in Spain are implementing training programs to help small businesses and entrepreneurs transition from physical to digital commerce.
In La Gomera, the Cabildo and the Chamber of Commerce of Santa Cruz de Tenerife are organizing sessions focused on digital marketing and online sales. The program covers practical tools such as Google local positioning, social media management, content creation using artificial intelligence, and customer service via WhatsApp Business. The initiative aims to strengthen the island's commercial fabric by providing personalized support to professionals.
In l’Alfàs del Pi, the City Council, in collaboration with the Pacte Territorial per l’Ocupació de la Marina Baixa (POMB), hosted a workshop titled ‘Commercial Expansion: from physical to online sales’. This training is designed to help small and medium-sized enterprises adapt to new consumer habits and improve competitiveness through e-commerce. The POMB initiative involves 18 municipalities and various social and economic agents to enhance employability and professional skills in the region.
