Spanish municipalities launch women's empowerment programs

Municipalities in Spain are launching various programs to promote women's empowerment and autonomy through training and community engagement.

In Fuente Palmera, the Equality Delegation has introduced a series of activities to commemorate the International Day of Rural Women. The program focuses on economic autonomy through training and personal well-being. Scheduled activities include a citrus pruning course and a workshop on pelvic health. The municipality has also officially joined the FEMP manifesto to support these initiatives.

Bermeo has announced a feminist autumn program running from October to December. The initiative focuses on empowerment, health, sustainability, and literature. Key events include a public assembly to design a new Feminist Empowerment Space and practical workshops such as home DIY skills and textile recycling. These programs aim to address gender gaps in traditionally male-dominated sectors and promote sustainable consumption.
