Spanish municipalities recognized for gender violence prevention

The Mutua Madrileña Foundation and Antena 3 Noticias have honored several Spanish municipalities for their educational initiatives aimed at preventing gender violence and promoting equality.

Torrejón de Ardoz received recognition for its ‘Construyendo puentes: igualdad y nuevas masculinidades’ project. This initiative involves over 1,450 students through a three-level approach: gender stereotype awareness in schools, socio-emotional intervention for minors to improve conflict resolution, and specialized intervention for minors subject to judicial measures regarding violent behavior.

Lanjarón was also among the 35 municipalities distinguished for its work in educational centers. The municipality’s efforts include workshops on equality and co-education, as well as awareness campaigns targeting students, teachers, and families, particularly surrounding International Women’s Day and the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
