Spanish police dismantle international luxury car theft ring

Spanish law enforcement, specifically the Mossos d’Esquadra, have dismantled an international luxury vehicle trafficking ring in Figueres, Spain. The investigation was triggered by irregularities found during the registration of a Maserati Levante imported from Italy.

A significant breakthrough occurred when authorities identified registration discrepancies in a Fiat Panda Hybrid. By cross-referencing the data from the Panda with the Maserati case, investigators uncovered a larger network.

The crackdown resulted in the seizure of nine vehicles, including four Porsche Carrera 4 GTS models, a Range Rover Sport SVR, two Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and the aforementioned Maserati and Fiat. The total value of the seized assets is estimated at approximately 640,000 euros. The stolen vehicles are believed to have been taken from Italy, France, and Denmark before being illicitly resold in Spain. A 51-year-old individual is currently under investigation.
