Law enforcement agencies in Italy and Spain have conducted operations targeting international luxury vehicle smuggling and theft rings.
In Italy, authorities at the Port of Civitavecchia intercepted a smuggling operation involving 15 vehicles, including a Lamborghini Huracan and a Mercedes AMG Cabrio, valued at roughly 500,000 euros. The vehicles were allegedly destined for Algeria and featured falsified documents and tampered chassis numbers. Separately, in Cagliari, a court ordered the release of several seized luxury vehicles to a dealership that claimed to be a victim of the scheme.
In Spain, the Mossos d’Esquadra dismantled a trafficking network in Figueres after discovering registration irregularities in a Maserati Levante and a Fiat Panda Hybrid. This investigation revealed a larger ring that moved stolen vehicles from Italy, France, and Denmark to be resold in Spain. The operation resulted in the seizure of nine vehicles and motorcycles, including several Porsche models and a Range Rover Sport SVR, with an estimated total value of 640,000 euros.
