Spanish Queen Letizia and daughters visit disability inclusion center in Palma

Queen Letizia of Spain, together with her daughters Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía, visited the Casa Esment facility in Palma de Mallorca during the royal family’s summer stay on the island. The centre, part of the Esment Foundation, runs a printing workshop and other vocational programmes for people with intellectual disabilities and developmental disorders.

During the tour the royal visitors spoke with staff who demonstrated the printing and binding work and explained how the centre provides training, graphic‑design services and other jobs such as gardening, cleaning and administrative support. In 2024 the inclusion service assisted 383 individuals, with 85 % securing employment, most on permanent contracts.

The visit highlighted the foundation’s long‑standing role, since 1962, in protecting the rights of people with disabilities and supporting their families.
