Spanish regional authorities allocate €840,000 for road and dock upgrades
The Provincial Council of Almería will invest 500,000 euros to renovate two main roads in the municipality of María. Works on the Camino Real and the Camino La Peguera will begin in September, adding new paving, pedestrian improvements and removal of architectural barriers to enhance safety and accessibility.
In León, the regional government’s Environment and Energy department has issued a tender to improve access to the Riaño dock. The project, funded with 340,761 euros from Just Transition funds, will replace the deteriorated concrete road with a new concrete surface, add a protective fence, a small retaining wall, a green area with seating, a viewing platform and solar‑powered LED lighting. Bids are accepted until 3 August and the works are expected to take three months after contract award.
